Hi-
I'm making my millionth road trip to Austin but 1st trip to Hut's Hamburgers on Saturday 17 July 2010 with my friend Sean. What is/are the best menu item(s?) there. We are staying at the Austin home of my friend Ben.

Thanks,

fallguy

Best bet is to go to the other end of 6th St to Casino El Camino. Those are the best burgers in town by far.

Funny, in all the years I've lived in Austin and all the times I've been to Hut's (at least a dozen), I've never had anything other than the Alan Freed burger and fries

That said, I would say the best thing about Hut's is that they'll still cook your burger to order (medium rare, yummm), which is becoming harder and harder to find these days. To me, this trumps almost every other aspect of a burger.

Going to disagree with this assessment of Casino El Camino. After seeing this place on DDD, I decided to check it out. I'll never be back. The burger was more hype than taste.
