Hello-
We too have begun the arduous task of finding the "best fit" in terms of where to move in Austin. Likely, my husband and I will be working in the RR area. However, the areas we are focusing our housing search are mostly in the NW - of Hwy 183- between Jollyville Rd and Spicewood Springs and north up to Anderson Mill.

As far as I can tell, these areas feed to good Elementary schools. Question is, can someone recommend a good quality preschool in this area in and around Zip 78759? My son will be 4 and has 1 more yr before starting kindergarten. We are leaving an excellent one here in San Jose and hoping to find something similar (not just a "daycare", but true preschool)

Thank you!

First Foundations is an amazing preschool! It's at the intersection of 620 & Anderson Mill Road.

A great (from personal experience) center is The Corner School, located inside the Texas Association of School Boards at 12700 Research. I can't say enough good things about them. . . they are primarily for employees of TASB, but take kids from "outside", depending on availability.

If you consider living in the Round Rock area, I sent all 3 of my kids to Council Oak Preschool at the First United Methodist Church in Round Rock. It was a fantastic experience for all of my kids.

If you're into Montessori, Hawthorne Montessori School has been fabulous for my son. It's near Mopac and Braker Ln. I highly recommend it.

I highly recommend Riverbend CDC preschool. It's 10 minutes or less from the area you're looking at. (Off of Hwy 360 near the Pennybacker bridge)

Exceptional program! It's a developmental preschool with fabulous teachers.

I believe the 4 year old program offers a 3, 4 or 5 morning a week option. It runs from 9-12:30 or possibly 9-1 pm.

(We also moved from the Bay Area and Riverbend was a true gift to my children!)
