One word "overpriced". The rents are kind of high for that area. I wouldn't pay that for a rental east of 35.

Mueller is a hot neighborhood right now, even though it's the dreaded "east of 35" that some folks use as a substitute for the "tracks" they so want to be on the "right" side of. (There are many quite nice, even fancy, neighborhoods east of 35.)

Okay. OP, what's your price range? What exactly are you looking for in the way of an apartment? Where do you want a shuttle to?

At Mueller, you are sufficiently central that you won't need a shuttle to get anywhere, let alone drive to a shuttle. The 37 bus can have you downtown in 15-20 minutes. Most of the time, you could drive to downtown in under 10 minutes, 15 -20 during rush hour tops. The Airport flyer can have you to the airport in roughly the same time. You can walk to all the retail at Mueller, such as it is, but it should only be getting better. You could walk to the Hancock HEB or the 24 hour Fiesta on 38th Street to buy groceries. When the rail is finally running, that would be another transport option. There are excellent dining options on Manor Road about a mile away and more on East 11th about 2 miles away. Central East Austin - east of 35, west of Airport Boulevard and south of Mueller is one of the most racially integrated, culturally happening (theaters: Off Center, Vortex; bars, restaurants, coffee-shops - too many to list and none of them Chilis or Starbucks) parts of Austin - if those kind of things are important to you. Historically, east of 35 was the Black and Hispanic part of the city, and the closet racists west of the highway continue to think that it is therefore dangerous and undesirable. Check it out for yourself.

I was curious about it so I drove through the development last week. I was impressed with the look of the apartments and the neighborhood. The parks and public areas are very nice. I was surprised that the yards were so small and the houses too close together in my opinion, but they were nice looking houses. There is still a lot that needs to be developed there to make it a complete walkable neighborhood. It will come eventually. I can see the attraction for some people to live there, especially if you work anyplace downtown, the university area or north central austin.
