The closest HEB to Tera Vista is the one at 1700 E. Palm Valley (Hwy. 79) - it's a whole 3.8 miles away. Probably easier to get to, though, from Tera Vista, would be the HEB in Georgetown at I35 and Hwy 29 (but it's a regular HEB, not an HEB Plus) at 4.4 miles away (about five minutes or so, depending on traffic - part of Tera Vista is in Georgetown). Sprouts is just down the road at 620 and I35.

Teravista is an AMAZING community with great homes, great neighbors, great ammenities AND great schools. Schools are what YOU and your children make of them and not what some other guy or some rating says of them.

If I were moving back to Austin, I would not have one single doubt about moving into Teravista, and putting my 3 kids in school there. Also, as mentioned above, Forest Creek is also a very nice area.

Well, the area got a good scrubbing tonight...and a pretty good test of the drainage, as well. Have you been watching the weather?

My family moved to Teravista in June 2010. We absolutley love our Highland Home and have the best neighbors anyone could ever have. It's a great location with good amenities. I am disappointed to see the value of homes currently being built, but guess that's the economy. What I would warn about is the schools. I hear great things about Teravista Elementary; however, we heard bad things about Hopewell and Stony Point. We decided as parents to become involved and make it the best we could for our girls. We went overboard to be involved in Hopewell; however, sometimes it fails. This school "may not be as bad as it was" but being better than bad is not good enough. I will say less than stellar teachers, poor leadership, and no communication. We have had continued issues; and you would think a school such as this one would have open arms to a straight A student with two working professionals as parents willing to give back... NOT! We will be taking our daughter out of Hopewell in four weeks and right now Gateway is on the top of the list. I would like to say that we have also become involved in Stony Point HS, and the administration will atest to previous issues; but they have a solid leadership team and are doing amazing things with their academies. I have worked with some of these students who were excellent. I personally have been in this school on many times and can say i don't see the horrible things i had heard. I'm just infuriated that our tax dollars support poor schools such as Hopewell, where they will tell you "we aren't as bad as we were before" and "we just manage the numbers." Good luck to all of you trying to raise a family!

I know a few people here in Hutto who send their kids to Gateway and they love it!
