No, it's 30 minutes. San Marcos sits right between San Antonio and Austin.

Interesting. All these decades of driving from Austin to San Antonio and back, I had it wrong. And it's about 80 miles from Austin to San Antonio (79.4, technically), and about 30.4 miles from Austin to San Marcos (per Google maps and my own experience). I'd figure that as about a third of the way from Austin to San Antonio, myself, which is what I remember it being all these years.

Either way, how would that be considered a metroplex then being 80 miles apart? I think the fact that NB and SM are in between are irrelevant.

SA is luvly; but still feels like El Paso but SA with humidity

Austin is lush green. Its great that they are close, but thankfully not considered as one city united

I agree to disagree, SA is nothing like EL Paso even though the western and SW parts of the city is where the desert begins. Austin wishes it had the mount
an ranges that El Paso has. SA overall is just a better city than Austin even though Austin has a great marketing plan. For as lush the two cities are about even. I might just give the edge to SA. You have to remember that Austin is our state capital and its get funding from all over Texas to look good

San Marcos is about 30 minutes from N SA and 20 from S Austin. Techinically S M could be part of the SA metro area
