Never thought I'd say that but it is getting scary. We are expected to rise to There are lost boat docks, debris, snakes, and sewage taking over our beautiful lakes. What is the craziest thing you have seen?

When I first moved to Austin and purchased my first house, I remember looking at diagrams of the "100 year flood line elevation". I sure hope this doesn't turn out to be that 1 year out of 100.

After living in the desert for 13 years, I can't get enough of the rain, I just love it. I'm also saving about $200.00 in water bills not watering the grass. I thought that after a few weeks I would be tired of it, but I can't wait for the next storm.

Yes, not watering has been a huge positive. My waterbills are down over 90% from last summer.

My husband and I are sick that we are missing it. I ACHE for rain. After 21 years in Hawaii, SoCal was a tough adjustment. We haven't seen rain here in so long, I have forgotten what it looks like....

I refuse to complain about the rain. It's nice to be outside and not burn up from heat. It'll be miserable soon enough.

I'm complaining! I just moved from weeks/months on end of rain (Seattle)... I was looking forward to the HEAT HEAT HEAT and sun.

The pictures of Volente Beach, to me, are very shocking. I don't know a lot about the areas around the lake and most of Austin (yet) - but have been to Volente Beach often...

Having come from So Cal, the rain is such a huge blessing. Back home, they're seeing temps in the 90s! But it's a dry, desert heat

The weirdest thing I've seen is Town Lake right under Mopac. It sure didn't look anything like that last year! I'm tempted to go hiking around McKinney falls again just to see what the rain did to that area, but I suspect I won't recognize much.

I am sure the rain will subside and the heat will return. I look forward to the Austin weather, but will have to wait for my move in Sept/Oct. From a more eco-point of view...I am sure the whole midwest can take all the water it can get considering the whole area has been in a drought for several years (just maybe it could be over a wider period of time, huh?)
