We just moved here and desperately want to get our three and a half year old daughter into some sort of preschool environment. My wife and I both work out of our home and have trouble getting work done with a needy little girl wanting to be constantly entertained by us. Plus we want her to start socializing with her peers and making friends. We're open to most anything and can't afford a very high tuition. Three half-days a week would be great, but we're flexible on that too.

Oh yeah, we're at Manchacka and Forest Glade, just below Ben White Blvd.

It probably will be hard to find something now. All of them have wait lists. There is one in Oak Hill. I can't remember the name that might have spaces available. I'm sure your daughter is very sweet. Strange to hear someone call their child, "a needy little girl".

Childrens Discovery Center on Convict Hill and Brodie. They offer several types of schedules to fit your needs. And they are taking applications now for that agegroup. (I work there, so I am biased, but it is a great center) At least worth checking it out.
Lots of centers won't do a flex schedule like you are looking for, so that is going to limit your options.
You can private message me if you would like more info!

Several do part time, but they pretty much charge you 3/4 rate for half-time, or whatever - you don't get a huge price break. Not sure about three 1/2 days, though. Anyway, it is easier at that age than younger, so don't despair yet .

Not sure if they do part time, but I really loved Primavera Montessori on Manchacha. They have a waiting list but it doesn't hurt to call and see.

Welcome to Primavera Montessori

You're almost within walking distance of one of South Austin's most incredible preschools, Habibi's Hutch - Home Page. Definitely worth checking out, PM me if you want more details.

There is an immediate opening at Childcare in Austin, Texas: Weslake Childcare. Seems like their turnover has been pretty high this last year. It's not my first choice but it's not a bad place to send your girl while you wait for an opening elsewhere.

My kids went to Manchaca Methodist Church's preschool. They have a 2, 3, or 5 day program. A "day" is 9 am until 2:30.

They are located on FM 1626 and Manchacha Rd.

Primrose opens a new school on the 1st at Davis ln/Mopac. They have room available last I heard. They have a PreK and private Kindergarten that we're very pleased with.
