I know some of you will not like the fact I am asking this question, but I would like to get your opinions on which part of Austin tends to be on the conservative side. I know Austin proper isn't as it is known to be liberal. We now live in Dallas but will be moving to Austin next year so would like to get a heads up on which part of town may be the best to begin looking at for housing.

Anywhere outside of central Austin. Williamson county may be conservative enough for you. Of course conservative depends on what you are looking for. Conservative for business, religion, or public works?

If you're a religious person I'd suggest moving up North.

But I personally think that even if you are conservative just politically then you'd be okay living in any part of the city.

I would think that any part of Austin proper would be fine. All neighborhoods have a mix of everyone even in Central Austin. I guess maybe the only area that you really might want to stay away from is SoCo. If you're looking at living in a suburb or just outside of Austin then areas of Williamson County at least tend to vote more on the conservative side (Georgetown, Cedar Park, Round Rock, Leander, etc.)

Plenty of libertarians and fiscal conservatives here in south central Austin! Pretty socially liberal though.

Lots of replies on this similar thread: //www.city-data.com/forum/austi...ve-places.html

You have several posts under your belt at this point. You know how the Austin Forum works. Could you stop being vague and tell us exactly what you are looking for? By just going "oh, conservative" "I mean conservative for religion" you are only going to start a flame war.

You intimated yourself that you understood this could cause a fight in your OP. Rather than have us guessing and then starting a huge fight, can you just be direct? Or are you only looking to start a fight? Beggining a post with "I know you might not like this..." and then being purposely vague really makes me wonder.

Did you attempt to search for the answer to your question in previous threads? Did you bother to click the hyper link to previous threads that the previous poster kindly gave to you?

People dont bring up politics or religion in casual conversation. If the idea of living near people of different political or moral persuasions bothers you then I suggest not living in Austin at all. Bigots of any stripe political or moral are the one type that isnt welcome here.
