Someone told us a few weekends back that the Schlitterbahn in Cedar Park has been cancelled. I was wondering if anyone had any concrete information about that?

Thanks,
Trish

Apparently Schlitterbahn New Braunfels is planning some massive changes for this season, there's a whole new park. I presume this was done when the financing for Cedar Park dropped, they decided to reinvest in the original park. It includes "The Falls", the longest waterpark ride in the world:

Schlitterbahn Waterparks (http://www.schlitterbahn.com/nb/new/ - broken link)

The new area is Tubenbach. I can't wait to go and experience this. However, I would think they wouldn't be expanding New Braunfels if Cedar Park would come to fruition.

As a resident of Cedar Park, I'm curious about this:

Quote:
Redmond, who lives in Plano near Dallas, led the negotiations and execution of the development agreement and approximate $86 million incentives agreement with the city of Cedar Park.
I'm fine with tax rebates, or even some traffic management and infrastructure investment by the city; the additional taxes will make up for it. But if the city is guaranteeing revenue or making major investments in a private enterprise, I think we taxpayers should know, and should be asked for approval.

Actually, Schlitterbahn recycles most of its water, although a lot is lost to evaporation. A study was done and they found out that tract homes in the same space would use more water than Schlitterbahn uses.

Do you mean that... or do you mean the exact opposite?

Sarcasm doesn't work that well on-line.

I was hoping that the explanation marks would double as sarcasm marks, but I think you're right.
