I have a 1952 Roper Range in our rent house in South Austin that I dearly love. (If there were room for it in our kitchen at the ranch house, it would still be living with me.)

However, in the way of things, she has aged (haven't we all!) and needs to bit of loving care.

What I'm looking for is a repairman, not to restore her to its former glory (I don't get plastic surgery, either), but to check it out, fix a couple of little things, make sure that she's safe to use. Someone who is experienced with these old beauties and will treat her with the respect she's earned and deserves, and will know exactly what she needs.

Not just any repairman, in other words.

Do any of you know someone like that you could recommend?

THL, you might try oak hill appliance. I know they do service and repairs. I always buy my appliance parts from them and do my own work. Sorry, i cant speak to the quality of their repair service, however.

I'd try Campbell Appliance Heating and Air (http://campbellapplianceheatingandair.com/products.html - broken link), I've used them and never had an issue.
