So, is this place worth the hype? (I'm secretly hoping you say yes, but be honest)

Yes. Have pie. Have lots of pie. Go to Pie Happy Hour and have pie.

The rest of their food is pretty good, too. But don't forget to have pie.

I'd say, do both. They have many, many different kinds of pie, so you'll have to go back many, many times, right?

It's busy all the time, so still has a draw I like the cast iron skillet brandy apple pie. The fried green tomato blt sandwich is really good with sweet potato fries. It's a casual place and the owners are very friendly and frequently are up front greeting people. They really do use fresh ingredients in all their dishes, so things do taste very fresh. My sister eats there more often than I do and likes most things. I think her favorite is ham with rootbeer sauce. They also have fish/shrimp items and I think steaks too.

I like pie. How does the Texan Cafe pie compare with the offerings at the Bluebonnet Cafe in Marble Falls?

The worst piece of pie ever served to me in a restaurant was the pecan pie at the Salt Lick by Dell Diamond several months ago.

Are their chicken fried steaks good? That's my DH's favorite. If they have good pecan pie and strong coffee too, they might have to add on a room for him there.
