I'm upgrading my appliances and I have 2007 Kenmore electric range that is in great shape except that on one of the dual burners, one part doesn't work. The burner itself is still usable. The element cost $220 plus labor to install and I decided I'd rather put the money into a nicer stove.

So, I was thinking I'd like to donate it to charity. I would prefer it be a 501(c) charity so I can deduct it from my taxes, but I'm also open to the idea of donating it to a needy family. Habitat for Humanity requires that the appliances be in 100% working condition, so I'm not sure they would take it. I would prefer not to donate it to Salvation Army.

Just looking for suggestions and ideas - would also prefer someone that picks up, but I have a truck if I need to move it myself.

That's who I thought of first, but oddly enough they don't accept large appliances. However, I did go to check their website and there is a link to places that do...unfortunately three of them were recycling centers and the other in G-town (a little too far away).

I may just have to go the free craigslist route.
