We were looking at Caballo Ranch a Jimmy Jacobs/Feilder built community. Does anyone have any positives or negatives on it? I know there's a lot of farm land around it which could end up being anything in the future which is what our concern is? We like the builder but concerned about the areas expansion/growth plans... Thanks in advance for your help!!

My only concern with that development per se is that I heard that they built on a lot of fill. That would concern me in regards to potential foundation issues. This may not be true so you'll have to get more feedback and research this.

IMHO; That farm land will be developed into housing developments or commercial buildings. Walmart is going in on Parmer just north of 1431. Eventually the sprawl with fill it all in.

I have my doubts that Schlitterbaun will be built. personally I don't see it really causing huge traffic jams since 1431 is already pretty wide and they are doing more improvements on it. The location for Schlitterbaun is South East of Caballo. basically it will be due east of the closed down auto dealership on 1431.

If you're looking there, have you looked at Parkside at Mayfield Ranch as well? You would have an Exemplary Elementary school that your kids could walk to within the neighborhood (I don't remember if you have Elementary school aged kids or not).

We do have two little ones and one's about to start Kindergarden. We did look briefly in there and will look again. I work all around Austin so I do a lot of driving as it is but was really hoping to stay a little closer to 183 toll rd. I know its not much further but it's kind of half way between parmer and half way between 35 and down that road a bit.(but still an option). We've been checking everywhere really. Just trying to narrow it down. So far its RaBC or Walsh Trails. We prefer RaBC but will have a smaller lot and a little smaller house but big enouh for us.

I'm also thinking about building @ Caballo Ranch, and I can't find enough info and reviews about the community. It seems to be a very nice place and for me the floor plans work pretty well. I also heard that Walmart is coming to be at 1431 and Ronald Reagan corner. If you have more info, please share! Thank you
