I am so stoked!!
We are flying in to DFW and driving down to the North Austin area next weekend. We were last there in 07 and I bet a lot has changed.
We are going to be looking for a rental property to move down in July or August. We will also be checking out some of the schools and different communities.

We are leaving the kids at home, as they are still in school until the end of June. Any suggestions on what activities we could take in while we are there? I am sure we will do plenty of shopping, but we want to get a well rounded feel for the area. We don't really care for the downtown/ 6th street stuff, and will most likely hang out in the burbs.
Are the bats flying right now?

Mount Bonnell (pretty view of Austin from the top) right down the street from Mayfield Park (which has amazing Peacocks) both free - you can accomplish both in about an hour.

How far North are you all going to be looking?
