need help! We are moving to Austin and are looking at Steiner Ranch and Round Rock areas for homes in the 350k range. Any idea how big the Indian population is in these areas/schools? how much do you need to make to live a comfortable life in Austin? We are a family of four.

Steiner ranch is a nice part of town and has good schools! Round rock can be hit or miss as way of schools. For your price range I would do Steiner or West Lake where the Eanes ISD(school district) is located. Eanes schools areall excellent.

What are you going to find in Eanes for $350k? You need to be closer to $450k for something smaller and older. Very rare for properties in Eanes to come on the market under $400k.

Round Rock and Steiner are both good options. Cedar Park is a good option too. If you're wanting school district, check out Lake Travis. It's pretty expensive, but you can find some around $350k if you're ok with 3 bedrooms and don't need 4.

As for living comfortable, it's all about what your definition of comfortable is. If you can afford $350k, you're definitely comfortable already.
