We have a night coming up @ the Bastrop Holiday Inn Express. It is an award night ( using points) so I would like to take advantage of the location. But the reviews for this hotel on Trip Advisor are some of the worst I have ever read....can a HIE really be that bad?

I live in the area. I have been past it hundreds of times and always neat and clean.
I have never stayed there but went to a function in one of the meeting rooms and no complaints

my sister and brother in law came in from houston and stayed there. they said it was ridiculously overpriced, and they had a terrible experience there.

then again, things just "seem" to always happen to them.

I'm lured to it's doors because it is a free night....but I have to admit in all my years of reading Trip Advisor I have never seen a hotel that has nothing but bad reviews before like the HIE Bastrop....usually at least the hotel tries to counteract the negative reiews with placing a false positive....one reviewer went as far as to say it was the worst hotel in all of Texas.....ouch.

I just got back from Houston and coming back through Bastrop, saw many a car parked in the lot there, so I guess whatever the problem is, not everybody's heard about it.
