Is it still invalid? I'm having a heck of a time learning this process. I had them all uploaded then I saw an error in my post and I accidentally deleted it. Ugh! I'm wondering too if the mod wants to move these to garden pictures instead of this forum.

Then, whenever I turn on the camera it wants me to continually set the date. I noticed the date on my pictures is 1980! Really, I took these last few just about an hour ago, well, except for the orange ones...that one I took a couple of months ago. Now I have to learn how to figure the date thing out.

I don't know what the orange ones are, my book doesn't show. I'm only using the North American Wildlife book so there are only a few pages of butterflies. I need to get a book on them. However, there is always the internet...looked it up under Texas butterflies and it appears to be a http://www.naba.org/chapters/nabast/gfrit.html (still going to get a book) Old dog you know....

Also, is the other butterfly a swallowtail as well? It wasn't as huge as the first one but it still looks like one.

Texas has some awesome butterflies!

Well, don't know what happened, but it's working fine, now, LOL!!

Thanks for sharing! Enjoyed the pics. Don't know what to tell you about the date on the camera pictures!

I think the other swallowtail is an Anise swallowtail, which likes anise, fennel, and other plants in the parsley family. The orange ones are the Gulf fritillary. I know the website you sighted called it a Mexican fritillary, but if you google that, you will see that it is much more spotty than this one, which is the gulf. The Gulf fritillary is dependent on passion vines. Great pictures!
