I've acclimated...I now enjoy listening to KGSR, (among others).

So, the gist of that self absorbed comment is this to newcomers: give yourself plenty of time to settle in when you move here.

I no longer listen to KGSR. They stopped playing "good" music almost a year ago.

What do you consider "good" music? I also listen to many other channels other than KGSR.

KGSR (which used to be known as k-geezer, not sure it still is ) has changed format over the years, but at least is not Clear Channel, so there is some variety (for better or worse).

I really have enjoyed KOKE being back on the air, but the weak signal is pretty annoying sometimes....

I now listen to KOKE also. KGSR used to play a variety of classic rock and interesting new music. In the last year, every time I'd flip thru my radio channels in the car to get something good to listen to, KGSR had some type of song playing by a band only someone in their early 20's (i.e. college student) would enjoy. I'm 47 and my tastes in music have evolved over the years, but the crap they've been playing on that station is really sad.

KGSR on my car radio got replaced with KOKE. I also listen to KBLJ (classic rock), 989.9 (Austin's Greatest hits oldie station) and the "Bob" station on 103.5. And also KVET, and Majic 99.5.

That's where my tastes in music run. The old stuff, and traditional country.

Um, listen to KUT. Really. If it isn't the single best music station in the United States it is in the top 5.
