Maybe you guys can point us in the right direction? There's this weird noise within the walls of the house. Loud humming noise that reverberates...kind of sounds like a helicopter landing. It lasts for about a minute or two and happens sporadically. Not sure if it is the HVAC ductwork but I don't think so bc it happens when the units are off. I don't know who to call out here to check it out.

Thank you!

Could it be electric? Another possibility, and I was hearing an odd noise in our house once, was the fan like thing on top of the house that spins...I guess where the attic is vented? We've been here for almost 7 years and that was the first time I'd heard it since I've been here.

I'm betting it's this one.

Loveroses/THL - I really don't know. Who can I call out here to find out?...is there like a generalist who can pinpoint this? Should I call an electrician then? Call Fox Service or something? It's not like it's something we can put a finger on and then dial up a person. Thanks a lot, guys. We're a bit stymied with this one..

Testmo...Don't know if it's the doorbell. It would make a noise throughout the lower floor of the house?

Pipes can make some odd humming noises, especially related to valved appliances (toilers, dishwashers, washing machines).

First, go outside and look at the roof and see if you have something that looks sort of like this up there.

That's what loveroses and I are talking about. The vanes inside it spin, and when the wind is just right, it can make a noise like you're describing, sometimes can be heard inside the house.

Next time it does it shut off the water at the meter and see if it stops.

The pump in my neighbor's in ground pool causes one of my bedrooms to sound like a low hum is emanating from the wall. I would estimate his pool to be about 50 feet from the exterior wall.

This is my guess. Check your commode flappers.
