I will be relocating to Austin in a month or so. I have been browsing a lot of these threads and they have helped but I have more questions! I was looking at getting an apartment in the arboretum area or around the tech ridge area. I am a 27 year old female. I would like an updated/nice apartment, 2 bedroom, safe neighborhood. I have read a lot about the Arboretum area but can't seem to find anything on the Tech Ridge area. Any advice on Austin would be greatly appreciated as I have only visited the city a couple times.

The Arboretum area is a diverse, mature area with a wide range of business of all kinds. Lots of trees, has some good walking and biking areas. Good public transit connections into the city. Apartments are mostly older, but well maintained.

Tech Ridge is a newer area that is still being developed around the Dell manufacturing and office complexes that have largely been cut back recently. Fairly new apartments, but far fewer choices of surrounding businesses. Pretty much a car only neighborhood. Not nearly as attractive an area as Arboretum.
