Hi everyone

We are considering moving to the the Twin Creeks area in Cedar Park and I believe that, that area is zoned for Cedar Park High School? Has anybody on the forum got first hand information of what that school is like?
Thanks in advance

I'm bumping this post because I'd like to hear an opinion, too. Especially how it compares to surrounding high schools.

I can tell you about Vista Ridge and what I have heard about Cedar Park High. I don't have specific first hand knowledge of Cedar Park but I have friends that have kids that attend Cedar Park High. The schools are very similar with Cedar Park being older than Vista and more established although Vista is 7 years old now.

The high school program is very varied and offers a lot of different classes for the students. They don't have an IB program but they have a very in depth AP program. Their Band and Sports programs are top notch. It draws from a mostly middle to upper class demographic. I would have zero problems sending my kids to Cedar Park. I haven't heard of any specific gang or crime activity so I assume it is minimal there.

If you have specific questions, I can ask my friends them.

I second the part about the music program. Though it has declined in recent years, it's still very high level.

Is there any particular problem with bullying compared to say, Westwood or Anderson? I ask because I ran across a Facebook page about the problem of bullying in the Leander school district: https://www.facebook.com/StopBullyin...derISD?fref=ts But I'm guessing that it's the same everywhere and Leander ISD isn't rife with bullying?

I'll ask my friends about Cedar Park High but there isn't an issue that we have had at Vista Ridge which is pretty close to a sister school to Cedar Park. IMHO, I think that the district is trying to be proactive on Anti-Bullying as it is becoming more of a hot button. I think that is a good thing BTW.

I would definitely like to hear back on the bullying issue. That is one of the scariest things is taking my 12 year old out of his current comfort zone (reluctantly) and then having something like bullying happen to him. Although he is very out going and talkative, so I am hopeful that he will make friends pretty easily.
