Does anyone know a place where you can get garden soil at a reasonable price? The kind of place where you take your own pickup and load the back up.

There are three different nurseries on Pond Springs and I believe the northernmost two both carry bulk dirt. The very most northern one is the one we used as they were cheaper and had dirt that wasn't dillo dirt. (Good if you're doing veggies or might have kids playing in it). We used them and thought they were very reasonably priced. Sorry I can't remember the name. I'll google and edit if I can find out.
We tried Whittlesey but they weren't very customer service oriented.

Yeah, Whittlesey is definitely a "you know what you're getting, you load it and go" place. Have questions? Good luck finding someone who will answer them! Prices there are good, although delivery is a bit spendy.
