If they're parking and driving one car per person, yeah, that's an issue, and not one that SF-3 zoning probably anticipated. If they're sharing cars and carpooling or taking public transit, then that's sustainable growth IMO. That's probably why many duplex lots have deed restrictions limiting the number of unrelated adults per dwelling further than city rules allow.
If I had rowdy neighbors with a bunch of cars in the street and/or blocking the sidewalk, I'd definitely look to see if there are deed restrictions. The city doesn't enforce them... somebody has to sue (or at least threaten it).

Bushwah. HOUs aren't driving out families. Family levels are dropping throughout Austin, and HOUs are only happening in a very specific part.

I might have (a very little) amount of sympathy for this argument if Scott Morris had bothered to include 1 realistic solution to having students get appropriate housing adjacent to the University and that doesn't involve busing them off to Riverside and Far West and god only knows where else they send students to these days.

This is nothing more than NIMBYism at its finest. I'll get on board with the NUNA and HPNA as soon as they wake up and stop opposing sensible student MF housing.
