Hello Folks,

I have done much searching on this forum and on the web, but I figure I will just throw a question out to you all.

We have been living in Leander, near Parmer and 1431 and love it. for a few months and have been looking for a house. We keep coming back to Parkside at Mayfield Ranch and building one of the Meritage homes. I have read both good and bad reviews about Meritage, but they are rather old.

Please feel free to give me the good, bad and the ugly on both the builder and the development.

Much appreciated.

I just signed a contract last week to purchase a Meritage showcase home they are already in the process of building there at Parkside at Mayfield Ranch. It just finished electrical stage and spray foam insulation. I've had two different licensed home inspectors look at the house and both said it was very well constructed and only found a few items to correct (minor). So far the experience has been great. The superintendent met me at the house after hours and gave me a three hour "learning" tour of the house so far and answered all my questions thoroughly. The sales lady, Tammi Evans, has been wonderful. She's up front and doesn't play the sales game. It's refreshing. So far, highly recommend Meritage.

I know this is a little late for a "timely" reply, but we purchased a Meritage in Parkside last summer and couldn't be happier. We've had some issues, which anyone will have with building a home, but Meritage has gone way above and beyond to correct them and make sure we're taken care of to ouyr complete satisfaction. Our Realtor, who has been one of the top Realtors in Austin for nearly two decades, was blown away at how well our process went and the after care. So much so, that he sent two of his personal friends that were building superintendents for other builders over to work for Meritage.

If we ever have to build a house again with a large builder, you can bet we'll be going to Meritage first.

As for Parkside, we love it in here. It's like we moved back into the 50s. The neighborhood is quiet, the neighbors are all very friendly, and while the amenities aren't what they are in Avery Ranch, the HOA is far less obnoxious.

It's everything we were hoping for in a home and community and everything anyone living in Texas should get in one, too.

Well, you've convinced me to ride my bike up there and try out the Freedom Pkwy stretch from Ronald Reagan over to Sam Bass. I've never been on the WilCo trail that looks to run along the 'back' of the neighborhood. Should be a great afternoon for a ride!

Great neighborhood for kids. We decided to build with a different builder in the neighborhood, but the sales person for Meritage (tammi evans) was great to deal with and very friendly. I've heard that Meritage is a small tick below some of the other builders in Parkside, but the others are much more expensive as well.
