The city is pretty integrated, so you can find them anywhere, but there aren't any exclusive neighborhoods.

My Indian friends do the network thing quite well with other Indians, and in their own social networks.

I am VERY suspicious of anyone asking the general public were they can find Indian families.

Look.. This person came here for help. He didn't come here to be criticized about his preference. Momma told me if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it at all.

With that said, I have no idea where Indians live. It's best to find an Indian who lives here and ask them yourself. However, there are a good number of them scattered throughout north Austin/round rock/cedar park. This is generally where the good school districts are.

Good luck. Welcome to Austin.

Some people feel comfortable around people of their own ethnicity. No harm in that. The Indian community can be very close knit. Of course, there are exceptions.

OP, much of NW Austin has a high Indian population. Also I think Cedar Park. There are Indians scattered about everywhere. there are several Indian restaurants and grocery stores here too.

the apartment complexes around the Parmer and Metric area seem to have a lot of Indian families. There are a ton of Indian restaurants and a few grocery stores nearby as well

our school (laurel mountain) and maybe cathy caraway are like 60% asian of which at least half are indian. I would think the apartments that feed into those schools are heavily indian. In my neighborhood you are more likely to see a woman walking wearing a sari than just about anything else.

You can search elementary schools by ethnicity to find the pockets you are looking for.

I would also think northwest hills is too with all the grad students living their.

Indians, esp. from India are 800 million strong. They come from a wide variety of ethnic groups amongst themselves and most would not all be clued into the same social networks. That's like saying all Americans would be clued in the same social networks in London or Paris.

Hello there, friend! Look in Northwest Austin, primarily around the Arborteum and Domain areas. Also, in North Austin around Parmer Ln. and Metric Dr. areas as well. There are many Indians (and Indian/Pakistani restaurants) in Austin. Good luck!
