Evidently HEB has NO plans on building a store in Hutto. (this is what I'm told from city hall)

That sucks.

North Austin/Cedar Park/Round Rock have more than one HEB that is closer to others than the desired Hutto store would be.

Argh. Moving to Hutto in a few weeks. A shiny new HEB to welcome my arrival, or ever, would have been nice.

Well, don't get too despondent, HEB has always liked to keep their plans tightly guarded and can decide to put a store somewhere on pretty short notice.

You need to bring 10 or 20-thousand friends

Nupe, just two cats and a woman. I can promise to send them all to the store every day if that helps.

I just don't understand the rationale for not building a store in Hutto. It would probably be as busy as hell. I can see why they're not opening up any new Pflugerville HEBs since there's the Gattis one and the 1825 one, but Hutto is really underserved and I don't know why. It's definitely bigger in population than when I moved to the area in 2005.

Well, when we used to drive through Hutto to Taylor in the '60s, the population sign said 440, IIRC.
So the town has grown a bit.
Round Rock was around 2,000, and Taylor was a little over 9,000.

Wow. I'm actually amazed. Coming from NYC, there was always a LOT of people. I've never really witnessed exponential growth. It's pretty fascinating to watch. That is why I posted about the new things that have been built around me within the past decade. There were probably more cows than humans in the 90s and now look.

Yep...just look at Avery Ranch...we hear stories of folks hunting on that land just over a decade ago. Now, it's home to ~10,000 people
