Howdy.!

I will be graduating from Texas A&M in December of this year and will be moving to Austin temporarily.
I am looking for a one bedroom apartment, condo, town home.. Anything.
I'd really like to live in an older building. I don't want something new.
I'd like it to be within 10 minutes of downtown, driving.
I'm also trying to stay below $700 a month.
I do have a cat.
Any suggestions for me.?

Try saving $ now! It is far too early to look for an apartment, the cat won't be a problem, staying below $700 will be, I'd suggest a roommate, you could start that search now! How long will you be in Austin? might want to try to sub-lease.

Work that Aggie network, make every single connection you can and take advantage of every university service (resume help, internships, career center, networks,) that you can.

good luck

Even if you find a $700 studio or 1BR (and you just might), I would avoid it like the plague - that is sufficiently far below market value that there is a reason they can't ask more than that.

Definitely get a roommate.
