I am thinking of selling my home and purchasing another home in Austin.

Are homes still getting multiple offers?

Are home prices still being bid up?

Or, did that end last summer?

Like all things, it depends. In the market as a whole, median sale price was up 13% YOY, in January. Whether that applies in your case is unknown.

I just sold a house in Oct. Put it on the market Friday, by Monday I had 5 offers, 3 of them for more than the asking price. Sold it to a cash buyer in a matter of days.

Yup!

Just be prepared to get it turned around on you when you go to buy...

In our area of NW Austin:

It's the rule that homes receive more than one offer, the exception if they don't.

YES.

Ha. Buyers only wish. Homes in my pocket of NW Austin, on average, are worth at least 20K more than last August.

The one I sold we bought in 1981. Got tired of being a landlord so sold it off.

I already own the house I live in, so no need to buy another one. If anything I might sell this one and move out of Austin to someplace with a lower cost of living.

I live in the suburbs..pflugerville..in a very large home, so it would qualify as a niche home. Listed on Friday, five people saw it, two put in offers on Sunday. Contract on Monday. Closing on the 17th. Got full asking price plus a little extra.

The neighborhood I'm moving to has since prices increase YOY, homes that were in the mid 300s last year are now in the mid 400s. The neighborhood is not particularly close in either. We don't like paying more as buyers but we'd pay even more if we waited. Big lots, non tract, established neighborhood means short of a recession prices will not go down.

Our house has a cash offer less than 24 hours after being on the market last week in Pflugervile. We received another two offers the next day. We are scheduled to close on Monday.

Absolutely NONE of my business; but I'd sure be interested in the numbers involved. We sold our aunt's Balcones Woods home after 30+ years...even as an 'as is' quick sale, it fetched 3x the original cost(During the DOWNTURN!). Of course, back then, my first new Volvo was only ten grand!

Certainly is in my hood - Allandale. Sadly, it seems to be mostly investors buying up houses, fixing up and reselling for ridiculous prices for quick profit. Doesn't even give regular folks a chance to get in.
