Lake Travis is over 690 now (117% full), even with 3 floodgates open. Expected to get to 692, and that seems on the low side looking at the still very high upstream flows. That would be about a 10 ft rise in less than 10 days, pretty significant considering we're talking about the top of the lake.

We normally get a lot of rainfall this time of year, but this year has been far higher than normal.

Your thinking monsoon season in AZ. Here spring March through May is wet, June through August is dry, then wet again (late) September through November. Winter is all over the place.

Went out to look at Mansfield Dam this afternoon - also saw that Windy Point Park was completely under water, with just the tops of some trees showing. The roar of the water was quite impressive, at least to a Texan who hasn't heard much more than what comes out of my bathroom shower head.

Heh! We were just out there a couple hours ago as well. It was fun to see so many excited kids stomping around. I got some great pics and video, but can't upload them here from my iPhone.

I did a drive around the lake. The park at Bullock Hollow on the way to Volente is under water. I've never seen the water so high at Volente Water Park area either, it's almost on the rides. The end of Windy Point is inaccessible.

I noticed it looks like a change in the weather patterns, right on time. It looks like the ridge is starting to build, starting tomorrow. Sunny for the next 7 of 8 days. It will be a nice change.

At least the pool at Volente Water Park uses lake water, so not much harm done if it floods. The bar on the "beach" is designed to withstand flooding - or so my brother (a VWP investor) tells me.

Most of the parks are closed, Windy Point is closed, I think only Mansfield Dam Park and Hippie Hollow are open right now. Water is really high.

LT is over 11' above 'stated' capacity of 100% as of this evening with more inflows on the way, albeit trickles at this point unless we get any more rain soon.
