I see them on the sides of the trails all the time on my hikes. I just figure people didn't want to carry them the entire hike and will pick it up on their way out.

Irresponsible pet owners litter the doggie baggies! Bad enough these same people let their dogs run and poop all over the neighborhood.

You can tell a lot about a person by where they leave their shopping carts, trash bins and dog poop. Just sayin. Cigarette butts can be added as needed for confirmation.

And, no...they aren't coming back to get it...unless they went on a three-day run before it rained last.

Ain't that true. When you run the same route, you become familiar with every little detail along the way, and when you see the same half dozen poop bags along the road in the exact same locations, this time smeared into the pavement, you know they ain't never coming back...

Looks like the dog poop issue is everywhere, including in my own neighborhood. Pisses me off, pardon the pun.

Our subdivision is kind enough to provide "mutt mitts", the least the dog owner could do is pick it up. I'm afraid dog turds won't decompose easily and truth be told people who live in the area won't be amenable to poop lying on the ground. Just like people aren't amenable to garbage cans being nearby either. What does one do?

The vast majority dispose of them properly. No one can do anything about the jerks. And at least if they leave it and it's bagged, it's not ending up on my shoes or in the water system.

Not really. If you step on it, it can ooze out. Sorry for that description but that's what happens...

A bag is pretty obvious and easy to avoid stepping on. Poo amid grass etc. is not. I'd rather them leave it bagged on the curb than on my lawn or the trail or sidewalk where I'll literally step in it.

I do all the time. Use a headlamp and watch where you're stepping.
