Looks like Uber and Lyft are planning to return to Austin as soon as Gov. Abbott signs the bill next week.

Very sad news that that POS company has bribed and browbeaten the state legislature to over-ride the democratic will of the city of Austin. Here is the latest news on its disgusting thieving ways. I hope people carry on using the local rideshares. Delete Uber!!! Or don't reinstall it...

Agreed.

But I don't like Fasten too much either.

I'll be happy when Lyft is back.

No, there are several options, Ride Austin, Fare, Fasten. My favorite is Ride Austin, it is a non-profit TNC but all of the new options in Austin are better for drivers. I will use Lyft but never Uber.

I just like to see the state put a check on overreaching of Austin local government.

Don't know about any ride sharing companies business practices, don't care frankly. Any one of them will save me from a DUI.

Fasten works for me. Don't see any real reason to change even if vouchers are offered.

It would be nice to see some "Uber-shaming" where people ridicule and shame Uber riders so that its comeback fails. That would make me proud of Austin.

Agreed on supporting the reining in of Austin's out of control local control. Local Control is something I believe in in principle, but Austin strains my thinking on the matter. Like when it tried to force me into becoming a welfare landlord with my own privately owned rental houses. Glas the leg squashed that one.

Funny, I thought there was a vote. Shouldn't that count for something?
