I've been trying new places. Really like Desano on Burnet. Any other new ones out there?

My #1 favorite is the Austin Pizza Garden on the westbound side of Highway 290/71 in Oak Hill, between Monterrey Oaks and Wm Cannon. It's an old rustic stone building from probably the late 1800's or the early 1900's that has a Texas Historical marker. They put the toppings on pretty thick. 2 pieces is about all I can handle at one setting until I'm full as a tic. It's the only pizza place I ever been to where chorizo is a topping choice. I think it's really good.

Another pizza place I like is Giovanni's on southbound side of Lamar, just south of Barton Skyway, inside the Valero station. The toppings are not laid on as thick as the Austin Pizza Garden, but it's a mighty tasty pizza. I've only known about it for maybe a year or 2. If you didnt know it was inside a Valero station, you probably wouldn't even know it's there.

APG is pretty dang good. I have not been there in a while, but you suddenly made me hungry by mentioning it.

I am still mourning the closure of 40 degrees North! A wonderful trailer on South First. Incredible Naples-style pizza. I know they consulted with some place that opened in RR but that is too far away for me. I keep hoping that they will open a brick and mortar place or bring the trailer back!

Another vote for Austin Pizza Garden. Best pizza in Austin in my opinion.

Yet another plus one for Austin Pizza Garden. It takes a while to get your pizza there, but it's worth the wait. I also like Pinthouse Pizza, Fire and Ice in Round Rock (Nomad Bar also has their pizza) and the pizza place that is out at Jester King Brewery. I forgot what that is called, but their pizza was ahhhh-mazing. YUM. Maybe it was the beer I had with it too, but Jester King is a nice place for a date night when the weather isn't 60,000 degrees out.

APG is good. LOVE Reales. +1 since the owner is from the Bronx. A legitimate Bronx Italian.

We have a custom pizza we order at PintHouse on Burnet. Our favorite for sure, plus they have tasty drinks.

Runner up will be Local Slice, NY style...they have few locations around. Check them out.

Sorry, Via313 pizza is overhyped and reminds me of large grilled cheese sandwich.

If you're northbound on 35 for any reason, try 600 Degrees in downtown Georgetown. It kills me that I can't really eat it, but oh man, if you like the thinner NY style, it's awesome.

And I love Desano's, too.

Keep the 'za away from me, though... love it, it doesn't love me. :/
