This is how you view working people?

I can only imagine how you view the unemployed.
You obviously don’t fly a lot.

I actually fly a lot.

I also have the ability to separate the people from the policy.

Then the people should know the policy. TSA is a failure. Abject disaster.

I tried to fly with a bunch of BBQ once. The meat was no problem, but they confiscated the sauce.

Can’t fault them for that.

I frequently bring food and it's not been a problem. I would however just pour the dressing on the salad if you need to.

I do have to say that a lot of TSA personnel don't always know the rules. I've had someone confiscate 6 jars of 4oz baby food for my 12 months old done yesterday ago. We were traveling internationally ( total of 22 hours door to door with layover). Thankfully I printed out the page that said baby food and milk was allowed. I've also had issues with once in a while someone not letting me take breast with or without the baby ( I used to travel for a lot r work and I had babies at home). So now I have the print out in my wallet.

larger than 3 oz. You can actually bring up to a quart, 3 ounces at a time.

Thanks for the suggestion to pour the dressing on the salad.

I actually had one TSA X-Ray scanner who asked me "What kind of laptop is that?" after staring at my camcorder (in its case) on his screen for what seemed like a full minute at ABIA years ago.

So yes, some of them really are low hanging fruit and have no business being in any kind of security work just like some cops don't. Of course they are only following policy, some of which really is moronic and is generated by their superiors - some of whom are idiots.

Especially those idiots/morons who think 85 year old grandmas from Bumfook, Arkansas need to take off their blouse for closer "inspection", while young Middle Eastern males are waved through with a smile. Profiling works - just ask the Israelis, French, & Danes, who don't care if the targeted groups are "offended".

A good friend who was a retired policeman/detective with a stellar record, intelligent, a good personality, and had a 4 year college degree - plus being a veteran - applied for a TSA security job soon after the DHS was formed. They turned him down because they termed him as being "overqualified". Of course the TSA hired its share of dropouts & GED people, and it is evident on occasion by their observed performance.

Having said that, the majority I have personally observed are courteous & efficient. But there are those who need to be in another line of work where some modicum of smarts are involved, not to mention people skills.

Dare you to try to carry even two ounces of gasoline through. There are itemized liquids that are prohibited in any amount. But I am sure you knew that, right?
