About to close on a home in Jonestown. Beautiful town, close to water, in the hills and a great school district. Just wanted yalls thoughts on Jonestown? Think it’s a great place to invest in while it’s affordable, given the population growth within Austin?

Rented a home out there a few years back. Beautiful area- and not very far from cedar park/Leander shopping. Travisso a brand new beautiful development inspired by the Italian landscape is years underway at this point breathing life Into the area. We never had a problem out there but I’m sure there’s plenty of drug issues in the area much like most small towns deal with. As far as investing goes.. that’s hard to say because throughout al the growth Jonestown has kind of seen little to no movement in terms of development.. travisso is a big residential devoloment however that is minutes away that could change in the future. Tough call.

Thank you for the response! It definitely seems like a gamble. Either way, I love the area myself- so I’m happy about it.

Trust me, I like my space. I don’t want it to blow up, either.

But it is a little inevitable. Growth and progress and population. No where is a secret forever.

No need to speed up the process.

Just wanted to reopen this thread. Loving it here so far- but wow this town is growing fast even in just the 2 years that have gone by. Does everyone still feel the same way about Jonestown (not a promising investment location/too far/bad crime reputation etc.)? Or is it just a bias I have being a resident that, to me, it’s looking pretty popular these days.
