My wife and I are considering moving to Austin. We are active retirees in the late 50s/early60s. We are considering Travisso. Our budget for a 2200+ sq. ft 4BR house is around 450K. A new or recently built house is preferred.

1. How is Travisso from the perspective of a retiree? (I did a search on this forum but found little information of use to me.)

2. Is it better to build or buy? We are not in any hurry, especially considering the Coronavirus uncertainty and we would be ok to start living there mid to late 2021. (Given that we will be moving from a low property tax state to a high property tax state, we will be saving some money by moving next year.)

3. Are there other areas with the ambiance of Travisso - hill country (somewhat), clubhouse with tennis, walking trails, sense of community, parks, etc. around Austin? We don't plan to do a daily commute other than travel for groceries, shopping, etc. and to senior activity centers, maybe in the future but we don't want to be too far from the city and airport.

Thanks in advance for your replies.

There are seven threads with Travisso in the thread when I searched that have been updated within the last year. Try seeing what those say and then come back and update your questions, maybe. We’re here to help, not do the work for you.

That's the first thing I checked. The questions I have are really from the perspective of a retiree, not answered in those threads. Thanks though for the suggestion as I revisited even older threads.

You may also want to consider Georgetown.
