Apparently, according to various sources, a common snapper has never been documented to sever a finger. The Alligator Snapper, however, apparently has several dismemberments to its credit...

Ah yes before the nasty sewage spill we probably had a lot of those ornery fellers.

We also have armadillos aplenty that aren't roadkill, giant buzzards, raptors of all kinds, resident coyotes as big as labs, and our friendly large neighborhood bobcat.

and the occasional roadrunner.

Maybe not sheer it off but it sure as heck can break your finger and destroy tendons and ligaments.
