Like others have stated, both are not much more than spots on the road, not really convenient to anywhere. Have you looked into San Marcos? It is a bit further from ABIA but it is a nice sized city with still a lot of open land and seclusion. It is home to Texas State University so there is a large college population but honestly they all live within a few mile proximity to the university. It is a beautiful town with two rivers that flow through it, hill country to the west, a quaint downtown area, and you are right in between Austin and San Antonio so you have tons of options for city life if you want that within a 45min-hour drive. I haven’t checked rentals there in a while but I know home prices for sale are much more reasonable than Austin or even New Braunfels which is the neighboring town to the south. I’m assuming rentals may be a similar situation. It’s definitely worth a look. I lived there for 4 years during college and sometimes I think about moving back there when I move back to Texas.
