My family is looking to relocate from Los Angeles to the Austin area, we are looking from an affordable city to raise our children not to far from Austin. We are looking for a diverse community with more of a liberal feel close to our hometown of LA. Any Suggestions?

Commute from LA. As "liberal" as Austin claims to be, it's nowhere near that virtue-signaling, pronoun-proclaiming, taxation-loving cesspool.

Pflugerville and round rock both have their fair share of Californians. Pflugerville is blue and round rock is purple - both sides seem to be content.

wont really find that here. The area that is liberal is expensive. The areas that are affordable are more conservative.

Texas has specific legislation against planned parenthood funding, gay marriage, trying to block transgenders in bathrooms.. Has open carry of guns, supports assault weapons etc.

Recommend you look for another place if you are looking for liberal.

Contrary to popular opinion, Texas is red and will stay that way, especially now that we got another RINO out of the House speaker's chair. Anecdotal evidence tells me that outside of the echo chamber of Austin and small pockets of Houston & Dallas, liberals are particularly unhappy in Texas because they don't get their way and when they do, more often than not the Legislature is fairly proactive in knocking back local progessivism.

And paradoxically, the liberal enclaves that are the loudest preachers of affordability and inclusion tend to be the most expensive and exclusive areas in the state. Go figure.

Best to stay in California where your legislature listens to you. That won't be the case here.

Agreed, the liberals here are regularly frustrated and embarrassed by the texas legislature. But also individual towns outside of austin tend to be more conservative.

Reminds me of the Lumberjack who posted once, "there are no more good trees left in my forest. Where is the best place in Austin to come choppin', where everyone wears plaid and knows how to throw an ax??
