It’s been pretty rough lately but we’re still pretty far from hitting that mile marker.

Not as much. I think the virus panic will put a damper on the excitement of downtown living.

I dont think so, people are coming to Austin in droves looking to live in or near downtown . There were plenty of people out at Cosmic coffee yesterday and zilker on the weekends is fairly busy. Downtown Austin has a lot to offer than just night life !

It was getting that way before I left. Lot's of creepers, beggars, and you still have to print out the stupid sticker to put on your windshield to park downtown. It was downright creepy and Not worth it. Police seemed to be more interested in pulling over motorists than dealing with the actual problem at-large. I'm fairly certain they'd be more interested in pulling over a car with out of state plates than dealing with someone getting harassed by a homeless person in downtown by their car at this point.

I am SO glad that I don't have to go downtown anytime soon! Definitely don't miss the beggars on every corner, dog mess everywhere, urine pools...sixth street going towards 35 is absolutely disgusting, as is the area around the ARCH shelter. My building is in the nicer area towards Mopac (Trader Joes within walking distance) but even then, homeless everywhere with beautiful spaces marred by excrement, puke, and spaced out druggies sprawled on the sidewalk.

What's going on in downtown today? A huge amount of construction. Never have there been so many cranes in downtown Austin...
