I had signed up to be on the Travisso's Taylor Morrison new construction list, but they need us to first bid on the lot before building a house, and I was first shocked that was the case here in Texas, then later on I found out I got outbid...

The minimal bid for my lot was 20k, and I bid 25k, then I failed...

So if a new lot comes out in January 2021 for, let us say 60k minimum, how much should one bid to be able to get that lot?

It was super not cool for Taylor Morrison to not release any information about the bid, nor the winning price of the bid, nor the location of the lots before bidding starts.

Thank you all for your help.

this is not common at all. But if you are working with an agent it seems like that info would get published in MLS, though the lot might not be "sold" until the house is completed.

Must one bid on any Travisso lot, or just premium lots with views?

yeah, but since they are building new houses, so that information is delayed for at least one year, so we are getting information from last year, and it may not be a good sample for the bidding price this year.

Heck, they took bids on the last lots in Northwoods @ Avery Ranch!!! Many of them were within tennis ball-hitting distance of the rail line!!! Not a view in sight(literally), unless you consider the train a view.

The market is just plain crazy. Was talking with a sales agent with a new home builder and he said he had a couple in that offered on a preowned home and the house already had 85 other offers. Also mentioned a realtor friend who was a part of a new development opening, the client camped out for 2 days just to be first in line, and apparently after they sell 3 homes, they have a mandatory price increase, so prices increasing while people are in the waiting room so to speak.

OMGGGGGGGG!!! How long do you expect this behavior to continue in Austin? Is this real estate boom unique to Austin or others are seeing this too?

I mean how are the real buyers gonna get anything now?
