If Benadryl makes you sleepy, Benadryl cream works very well for this kind of thing.

I strongly suggest putting vinegar on your bites when you first feel them. It will take away the sting and it keeps new bugs away. Also works great on ant bites.

Also until you get them out of your house, do not wear scented lotions or eat bananas.

Take Bendryl for the welts. I guess you must be far from downtown. The bats take care of lots of the flying bugs when you live central.

We do get a few mosquito that breed in the saucers under the container plants, any standing water no matter how small can breed them. Try mosquito dunks for any water. Does your house have a sprinkler system? It could be going off at night when you are not aware of it and pooling water under shrubs etc.

You can be allergic to mosquitos, then the bites will be bigger welts. Good luck. Hopefully this will pass.

Agreed, I think it is more likely fleas. Ankle bites are a typical flea thing. It doesnt sound like mosquitos at all. You will eventually hear them buzzing around your ears if you have mosquitos.

Could it be fleas?

My thoughts exactly. They can leave mosquito sized bites. Especially if you're being bitten on the feet and ankles.

If you are being bitten inside the home, look for inside water leaks in the kitchen and bathroom.
Close the doors to the bathrooms at night and in the morning look for the bugs.
I had this problem and after someone told me to do this I found I had a small leak in the upstairs bathroom.
Fixed that and fixed the problem.

I'm thinking fleas as well We had a similar problem(though not as extreme) when we first moved here last year. You just don't know what was happening in your house before you moved in. Make sure to treat your animals soon or they'll be miserable.

Chiggers are more common when outside, especially in tall grass etc...Been there. Not Good.

Yikes! I HOPE it's not fleas. I did a flea treatment on all of them right before we moved. Probably about 2 1/2 weeks ago. But maybe I'll do another one on them. Can't fleas live in carpeting, like, forever?

Yup..best to get a professional cleaning done. Between the animals and the carpets you need to be diligent to get rid of fleas.

Bananas? really? Learn something everyday. Maybe that's the source of my daughter's mosquito attraction.

here's what i do to prevent fleas. it must work, because my pug and boston terrier never need Frontline anymore, or flea baths..and i have been doing this for the past few years.
buy those dried eucalyptus stalks in the fake flower section of Walmart. put them in vases and put them in the living room or wherever. the scent for some reason repels fleas. buy eucalyptus oil from a natural food store and sprinkle it on the dried eucalyptus leaves every so often to refresh the scent
2000 Mule Borax (i think thats what its called) laundry detergent sprinkled on carpets. i do it lightly behind couches/recliners and under the couch pillows.
diatomaceous earth (lightly dust wherever)
i do my sprinkling after vacuuming.
i am not a neat-nut, and have no fleas or any kind of bugs in my house
