I live in west Austin and will be driving to the Texas A&M game this Saturday. I'm new to the area and was wondering how long of a drive this is if I take the 290 to 21 route? (Or should I take 79 to 36 to 21?) I'll be departing on Saturday morning. I appreciate any insight that can be offered. Thanks.

If you're on the north side, 290 to 21 is the fastest way. It's about an hour and 1/2 from Austin to College Station, so tack on how far you are from the East side of town. Be aware that Caldwell is a speed trap.

We live at Mopac and Slaughter and we go 71/290 through Bastrop then to 21. It takes about 2 hours. My husband is leaving this Sat @ 9:30 so he can be there ready to grill @ Noon!

Gig 'em!
