1 bedroom apartments with garages are extremely rare, especially affordable ones. There might be a few duplexes around that fit that bill.

Is the garage for a car or for storage? There are numerous storage places around where you can rent a garage size storage unit if that fills your needs. There are some apartment complexes around with covered parking.

McNeil Ranch has 1 bedroom apartments with garages. I almost leased one recently before I decided to buy a home. They are on McNeil, east of 183. Looked pretty good, but I hear the energy costs are kinda high (then again, I pay 30-40$ for electricity, so anything seems very high to me).

I don't know how far out you want to be but the Verandah at Grandview Hills is a beautiful property and they have garages--attached and detached. If you want more info, please let me know, and no I don't work for them

Archstone Monterey Ranch in SW Austin, but the garage is extra (not sure how much). We have a 2 bdrm with a garage at Sedona Springs across the street, but I'm not sure if the 1 bdrms have them.

Does the garage need to be attached to the apartment? And how close do you need to be to the center of Austin? I ask, because the apartment complex that I just moved into is called Broadstone Travesia, and it has detached garages as an option. It is located near the 45/i35 intersection, which is technically still in Austin, but would be a bit of a drive to downtown. The rent is very reasonable if you take their deals that they are doing right now, and the garage only costs 70 bucks extra per month.

The place is so new, that there is a whole other section of the complex that is not even finished yet. They have full sized washer and dryers included, as well as a dishwasher and microwave. They also have a business center, fitness center, and free WiFi for their pool area. (Although the pool is pretty shallow, and very cold, lol)

Anyway, we are paying 656 a month for a one bedroom, and it is not the smallest one. If you don't mind having a couple extra feet less in your livingroom, I think they have a 1 bedroom for somewhere around 600 a month, which I think is very reasonable.
