thoughts on living there? Looked at Belvedere, know that there are some other places too. Any feedback would help.

Thanks

I know that the real estate out there can be pretty upside down but what are you looking for in that area?

Belvedere seems pretty nice, but the houses are slow to move and we are looking to potentially spend around $550-600k. There is the "horse neighborhood" that seems ok. I was just looking for general thoughts and experiences on living in the area. I wonder if I'd feel too far out, but it is really pretty and peaceful.

I think its a good neighborhood if you want a more rural kind of lifestyle and don't have to commute into downtown everyday. It has a lot of advantageous for recreation, aside from the obvious Hamilton's Pool, there is also the Riemer Ranch next door and the new Travis County Park that has taken over part of the Riemer Ranch area along the Pedernales River. It is also relatively close to Lake Travis, good shopping at Bee Caves. The Seton Southwest Hospital is pretty convenient in Oak Hill.

I live a bit further out than Hamilton Pool Rd. (Bee Creek area). I love living a bit further out. HEB is close by, a growing number of restaurants, and the Bee Cave Galleria are plenty for me. I foresee a time when traffic on Hamilton Pool Rd. becomes a bit of a problem, but eventually Travis County will do something about it.
