This program is run out of Harvey Penick course out east....
Any of you have any experience with it?
Sounds awesome and I just signed up my kiddos for a summer golf camp...
They have junior foundation tournaments in the fall and spring there, also. I hope the kids like it so we can do those too!

We've had a great experience there.

Coach Dave (head coach who works with the kids) is just an amazing guy. He works with them on their golf game as well as good manners/etiquette, as expected in golf. It's not stuffy or formal, but the kids are expected to behave as they should on the golf course. I really get a kick out of watching my son rapidly tuck in his shirt before his lesson (not something he would do on most days )! My son thinks the world of Coach Dave and his golf game has improved tremendously. He now competes in local tournaments and enjoys that as well.

We do the year-round lessons (incredibly affordable) and did one of the camps last summer. It is REALLY hot out there for a full day of camp, but they do give the kids the option of swimming at the Y next door during the lunch hour to cool off. There are lifeguards on duty and one adult from First Tee when they go over.

It's an affordable way for kids to learn golf. First Tee believes in making golf available to all children and they have been very philanthropic in the community to make sure underprivileged kids get scholarships for lessons if they want to learn. They will even provide clubs to use for kids who don't have them. I think it's a class act organization.

That is great to hear! Of all the things I read about, this organization impressed me the most, so I am glad to have some outside feedback.
I am looking forward to their learning the game and maybe teaching me some

I see from you profile that you in my neck of the woods....I am 78749. Is the drive horrific!

Well, the drive takes a while (for me, just under 1/2 hour), but we haven't had traffic issues, it's just mileage.

We stay out there when he has the 2 hour lesson, but for the summer camp, at least you have most of the day free!

Great organization, great people and great lessons to be learned as well. I think you'll be very, very happy you signed the kiddos up.

My nephew teaches at First Tee and he is a first rate golfer and a really committed kid. He has been playing since he could hold a golf club and now at almost 16, he would tell you First Tee is one of the best programs he has been involved with on both sides of the fence.
