Hardly got anything on 38th Street. At the Capitol it was raining so hard you could barely see across the street.

BTW, it was a microburst..a mini-tornado of sorts....

Microburst - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

BTW, remember when that guy died at the Cowboys' training facility from a microburst?

"On May 2, 2009, the lightweight steel and mesh building in Irving, Texas used for practice by the Dallas Cowboys football team was flattened by a microburst, according to the National Weather Service.[10] "

Also, word is that the Pease Park trees got pretty massacred....
"A microburst often has high winds that can knock over full grown trees. They usually last for a couple of seconds."

We were driving through Bastrop around 4:30 and it was pouring so hard we had to slow way down on 71. But by the time we got to the airport, it was merely spitting.

Yeah, we got a buttload of rain here in South-Central. I'm pretty close to that HEB on Oltorf but was on my way to work when the storm hit. Just went to that HEB about an hour ago, and everything was normal...well, as normal as can be expected at that particular HEB
