The makeup thing is too much for me. Lets not forget in the more affluent areas you need Coach purse (on the low end) or the Jimmy Chu shoes (I hope thats spelled right, Ive never owned a pair of $500. shoes!) But Dallas has more shopping (even a low maintance girl has some flaws) a better job market (though people here seemed very stressed everyday), and a lower housing cost (but higher property taxes.)

One thing I never understood about Dallas is why it thinks it's so glamorous. Although the glamor stuff in Los Angeles is obnoxious, I can at least say that Los Angeles' haughtiness is somewhat justified. Dallas just strikes me as a wannabe-LA without the cultural amenities and good weather/scenery.

If I were going to live in a really big city, I would take Houston any day over Dallas.
