I know that Austin has some bars that are heavily populated with Saints fans, others with Cleveland fans, and probably bars that lean toward other cities/teams, too. Does anyone know of any bars in Austin where ex-Bostonians congregate? I'm looking mostly to be able watch the baseball playoffs (and NFL) with Boston rooters. Thanks!

The best place to watch Boston sports is...........BOSTON

Just kidding. But as a Cleveland sports fan, I guess I'm not really kidding...jeez, save some for the rest of us will ya?

I don't know of any specifically Boston-centric bars but there seems to be plenty of Boston sports fans here. 3RD Base is a really good sports bar that has every game on all the time. You'll find like-minded folks there for sure. It's on W 6th near MoPac.

The Tavern at 12th and Lamar is a pretty good place to watch the games, but I don't know about the Boston thing. I've seen groups of Packers, Broncos, and Chargers fans in there before. I think it just depends on who brings the most friends. It's actually not too far down the street from "Third Base" downtown as well. They have also opened up a Third Base in Round Rock.

The Tavern Austin TX Best Sports Bar

Good call, I actually prefer the vibe of "The Tavern". Old pub kind of place. Decent bar grub and such. But if you're the only one of your pack and you need to see a game, 3rd Base will put it on for you!

There's a 3rd base in Houston (Clear Lake) and it was great for watching pretty much any team, so I guess I'll second everyone else on it.

Little Woodrow's on 6th street must be owned by a Boston guy or something because there is always tons of Red Sox fans in there for the playoffs. I watched a few games there last year and they get pretty loud. Go Red Sox!!!

I just drove past the new Third Base in RR a few minutes ago (during the Red Sox game) and the patio was packed on a Monday night... so unless it's a large Monday Night Football crowd (kinda doubt it), I'd be willing to bet it was a good chunk of Sox fans.

I've noticed that the Third Base in Round Rock is a bit more of a gathering place for Dell employees to head after work rather than a die-hard sports fan type of place. It has some, but you can look around on any given weeknight and see that half of the people in there are Dell happy hour people. If nothing else, it has provided them with an alternative to Plucker's after work.

Totally agree and understand, but this was also at 9pm on a Monday night, so I don't know if the Dell crowd would be there that late.

As for my new personal one, I like the Buffalo Wings and Rings at AW Grimes and Gattis School for going to watch football games on Sunday or the random other game during the week. There definitely doesn't seem to be any crowd for a specific team there yet.
