So, last month, I gave my two-month rental notice to my property management company. Typed up and signed and folded up my rent check in it, and dropped it off at their office. I was required to give 2 months, fyi.

Weeks went by and I haven't heard anything (the check was cashed, of course). I emailed them the other day saying that I hadn't heard anything about my notice and wanted to touch base with them and I got an email back saying basically "Notice? What notice?"

I sent an email back explaining that I wrapped up my rent check with the notice and that I didn't see how they could have failed to see it (nicely, of course).

I'm wondering... can they just say that they didn't see it and make me pay for an extra month's rent? I honestly don't think they would lie about not seeing the check, since they've really been great with everything else. So maybe they really didn't see my letter. I'm wondering my options.

Suggestions? Advice?

OK, sorry. Never mind. Just heard back and the landlord's being cool about it. Apparently the other guy in the office got the notice. Sorry! I was just freaking out.

It would be best to send anything critical like this certified mail so you have a record of it.
