I loved the good old boy's racing, i loved the old cars that i could relate to, i don't like the Political correctness of todays racing along with the commercialism. I enjoy the local short tracks much more, it's like going back in time
I wouldn't like watching baseball on TV and miss a homerun because the TV was on a commercial break
I wouldn't like watching football on TV and miss a spectacular touchdown run bevause of a commercial break.
I don't like to be watching a commercial on TV and have them return to the race under caution and have them re-play the spectacular 6 car pile up.
Or while on a commercial break, a new leader emerges after making a spectacular pass to take the lead.
This problem is unique to auto racing. There are no natural breaks, between innings in BB, after turnover or score in NFL,NBA & NHL. Sponsors are a necessary evil. IRL is using a clever way to get around the problem. They show the commercial and the race in split screen so you never miss the action. If they can do it why not NASCAR?
I have been a Nascar fan since the late 60's,i can remember watching on wide world of sports, the problem now with Nascar they have lost touch with there roots, they stopped going to tracks that put them where they are, they turned there back on the loyal fans and pricing them selfs out of business.
everyone that wrote on here has made a great point.i still watch every now and then but i am sick of the Dale JR show,he's running 28th and the cameras are on him instead of the leaders or someone that deserves some air time.get rid of DW, Larry Mac,Brad D,and please get rid of the Wallace brothers, Rusty and Kenny, bring Dave Moody over from MRN.
I agree with Roadog. Back to the good ole days. There ticket prices are too high for the times we live in. That there alone will cause sales to drop. Not to mention the merchandise prices.. Now here is the big one, there merchandise is not USA made. I wont buy it. I support American workers
Not everybody has the time to sit there thru all of there yellow flags and long races...
BE Blessed
Yawn, it's lap 96 at Fontana, I dunno.... just don't have any excitement for Nascar lately. Am tired of seeing the megabucks teams, the drivers whining "I'm loose" "not turning in the middle" And Nascar censoring what the drivers say after the race, if Nascar doesn't like what the driver says they fine the driver.... This is NOT RIGHT. The interviews with the driver after the race, it's almost like watching a commercial.
I'd like to see some type of return to the old ways of Nascar, drivers that had personality like Petty, Pearson, AJ, real cars not this POS car of tomorrow, more like the car of boring
and the NASCAR bashers will proclaim-----" it was another boring race"-------------------------------" it was no where close to the olden days "
Can't please those bashers who look back on the olden days while wearing rose colored glasses.
I totally forgot that race was even on yesterday. I took a long ride on my motorcycle and then was so busy watching football and tracking my fantasy teams, that when I remembered the race it was 37 laps to go.
Then we flipped back and forth between the race and the debacle (err... I mean game) in Dallas. At least Smoke won the race and this fan salvaged a little something from the day!

Isn't it hilarious? I would love to see some of these bashers speak their minds to their employers and see how long they continue to receive paychecks.
